5 Books To Help Your Child Transition To Preschool
Denise Vasi
The transition to preschool is a big one for mom and dad. The waves of conflicting emotions are most definitely overwhelming. Of course, as parents you’re thrilled about the new adventures your little one is about to embark on but there are also feelings of sadness as your little birdie leaves the nest for the first time. Similarly, your toddler is most likely experiencing difficulty processing both feelings of excitement and worry as they head out into a big new world.
Adding a few preschool–focused stories to your reading rotation will help soothe some of those jitters. Just be careful not to introduce books too early, as you don’t want to add any additional anxiety by over–addressing the situation. A week or two before school starts or the first few weeks of attending preschool are both perfect times to introduce these books.
These sweet stories will encourage your toddler to foster positive secure feelings in regard to preschool and separation, and they just might ease mom and dad too.
