Sparkling Rose Lemonade
Denise Vasi
Nothing does the job quite like lemonade when it comes to quenching thirst on a hot summer day. A classic drink, it always seems to bring back fond memories of long days and warm nights. What I love most about lemonade recipes is that they don’t require a ton of prep time.
A tribute to the time I spent in Lebanon years ago, this spinoff is refreshing thanks to the combination of a natural sweetener, sparkling water and rose water. Often found in Middle Eastern and Indian cooking, rose water is quite a versatile ingredient and packs a ton of flavor. Having used it for years on my skin, I’m loving that more skincare brands are incorporating this flavored water into their products. Not only does it smell amazing, but it has excellent anti-inflammatory and astringent qualities as well. Whether you’re spritzing your face or spritzing up a classic recipe, rose water is a treat you won’t want to miss.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 6 cups sparkling water
- 3 tbs rose water
- 7 1/2 tbs organic light blue agave
Step 1: Combine lemon juice and sparkling water in a large pitcher.
Step 2: Add maple syrup and rose water. Stir to combine.
Step 3: Serve chilled over ice with lemon slices.
Step 4: Add more water or maple syrup if needed to achieve desired taste. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
So whip up a quick batch to serve on a hot day, bring it as a gift to the host of a dinner party or set up that lemonade stand with your little ones. Whichever you choose, this twist on an all-time favorite summer drink won’t disappoint.
Now get to squeezing!
