Mothers Day Gift Guide: Here’s What Mamas Really Want for Mother’s Day This Year
Mother’s Day will be here before you know it, so we asked all the mamas in our community what they’d like to be gifted this year. Unfortunately, we can’t help you out with getting more sleep (sorry), but we can give you some gift ideas to forward to your partner or to give to your own mamas this year in our mothers day gift guide.
Before we get to the mothers day gift guide, you might be surprised there’s a lack of self-care items in this post. That’s because so many of you are in dire need of a spa day (or, at least, a spa-at-home experience), we’re publishing self-care products in a separate post next week, along with a third self-care ritual gift guide only for Maed insiders. Mother’s Day Gifts for… the Mama Who Needs Some Me Time
Mamas are exhausted juggling work and schooling during the pandemic. These gifts are perfect for a mama who needs some time to unwind, sans kids (and yes, husbands too). Some of our community members suggested a weekend at a nice hotel, but a luxe set of sheets, a good book, and a cup of herbal tea to curl up with will be just as appreciated. Set the mood with a candle or an aromatherapy diffuser and take the kids out for the day!
Mother’s Day Gifts for… the Mama Who Loves to Be in the Kitchen
No one wants a Mother’s Day gift that feels like an invitation to do more work, but if you know a mama who loves to cook and bake, these gifts will be a hit. Upgrade old mixing bowls, measuring spoons, and pans or, as one of our community members suggested, treat mama to the investment piece stand mixer she’s always wanted.
Mother’s Day Gifts for… the Mama Who Rocked Our Celery Juice Challenge
Is this super specific? Yes! But sometimes you get on a health kick and you’re all about it. We’ve heard from so many Maed community members that they loved our celery juice challenge and are itching to get a juicer—and since it’s Mother’s Day, you should go big and ask for this rose gold model from Hurom. Stock your fridge with your own cold pressed juice in glass bottles and go beyond celery juice with the help of a recipe book.
Mother’s Day Gifts for… the Mama Who Is a Traditionalist
There’s nothing wrong with wanting flowers, a box of good chocolates, or jewelry! Many of our Maed mamas are hoping to get these items for Mother’s Day this year. For mamas who are traditional or into more sentimental gifts, these are some of our faves.
Mother’s Day Gifts for… the High Tech Mama
It can be hard to justify the cost of treating yourself to a tech gadget, which is why it’s a good idea to drop some hints about those AirPods you’ve been wanting to your significant other so they can treat you to them instead. (And don’t forget a cute case either!) Here are some tech gifts that are sure to please this Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day Gifts for… the Mama Who Loves a Good Workout
Self-care takes many forms, and for some mamas, that means time spent in the gym or yoga studio. Give her fitness gear a refresh—new sneakers, a pretty floral water bottle to tuck into her gym bag, or a luxe yoga mat will be appreciated.
Mother’s Day Gifts for… the Mama Who Wants Experience Gifts
With minimalism all the rage these days, many of the mamas in our community expressed a desire not for physical gifts, but experience gifts instead. Some of our favorite ideas include:
- A trip with girlfriends—get friends’ partners involved in the planning and have them all purchase a plane ticket and hotel room. (Preferably to someplace warm and tropical.)
- A photoshoot with the kids. Then, create a hardcover photo book or canvas prints with them.
- A day to sleep in, then breakfast in bed.
- A personal chef for a day to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Or, hire someone to do meal prep for a full week.
- A cleaning service. It’s a great time to hire someone to give the house a deep clean for spring so mama doesn’t have to.
